For UNFPA, Rec Design developed the editorial design and visual presentation of Factors associated with the perception of ease and intention to practice female genital mutilation on daughters, a cross-sectional study examining border communities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Uganda. The research explores the factors influencing both the perceived ease of carrying out FGM across national borders and the intention to perform FGM on daughters and female relatives.
Working with a sensitive subject and a research-driven publication, our design approach focused on clarity, accessibility and respectful visual communication. We created a structured editorial system that helps readers navigate complex evidence, highlighting key findings and supporting the presentation of data while maintaining the rigor of the research. The result is a clear and cohesive publication that makes a complex regional study more accessible to policymakers, practitioners and other audiences working to end female genital mutilation.
