The Marimba project aims to enhance musical production in Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and Timor-Leste, with indirect impacts on the other PALOP-TL countries. The name of the project is inspired by the marimba, a musical instrument widely disseminated around the world with origins in African xylophones (still found today in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau), that had their origin in the gamelons of the 1st century in the Indonesia region. Those rhythms also influenced the music of Timor-Leste.
Rec Design developed the visual identity for this project, designed the online platform and social media materials, as well as business cards and banners.
Within the scope of the Marimba project a photography contest was released.
The photographers chosen will capture images during field activities to develop at each stage of the project in the countries mentioned above.
